New Delhi: Abhishek Pant, a final year
student of Computer Science at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)
Kharagpur, is from Pune. The 22-year old bagged a job worth Rs 2 crore
per annum plus stock options at Google Inc.
Chetan Kakkar, the final year student of
Information Technology at Delhi Technological University (DTU),bagged a
job at Google, California too at a package of Rs 1.27 crore per annum.
Abhishek recently finished a three-month internship
at Google’s headquarters in Mount View, California and underwent a
rigorous round of interviews for a vacancy in its Design Solutions Cell.
Pant was born in the US. His family shifted to
Pune, India in 2006. He topped his city in CBSE Class X board exams with
97.6% marks. Now, he will shift back to the US in September 2016 to
pursue his career.
IIT Kharagpur placement season has been quite great
this year. Besides Google and Microsoft, Amazon, AdHoc and Deutche Bank
along with several other companies have also extended job offers to its
students. Most of the pay packages on offer range from Rs 19 lakh to Rs
30 lakh per annum.
Chetan from DTU has bagged the highest offer on
campus yet. Till now, the highest offer at the institute was pegged at
Rs 93 lakh per annum. Both his parents teach at Delhi University. Her
mother Rita Kakkar is a Chemistry faculty while his father Subhash
Kakkar teaches Management Studies.
